… a stocking for the snowdrop

stocking

it's ingrid's first christmas! obviously, she needs a stocking.

stocking

i used this tutorial to make a simple lined stocking, but sized it up quite a bit. i also added a little tab so i could hang it up. i used an amy butler polka dot from the love collection on the outside and some kei honeycomb for the lining.

and then i added some little felt snowflakes that i made using this stocking tutorial on the purl bee to spruce it up. cute, right?

now, does anyone know what one should put in a baby's stocking? seriously, i have no idea.

  1. Arrowroot cookies, plush toys (without button eyes), teething ring, maybe a rattle?

  2. this is so cute!

maybe some of her favorite snacks or a stuffed toy would be nice stocking stuffers.

  3. definitely a teether, given her age! also some type of small, safe toy(s). maybe a small article of clothing like a pair of socks or mittens, a hat, or cloth diapers. or you could place a new ornament into it that's maybe not really so much a present FOR her, but instead symbolic of your first Christmas with her. you could take it out of the stocking and hang it on x-mas day while you're around the tree opening presents.

  4. Such a cute stocking! My daughter is 2.5 and we still haven't finished sewing her stocking. Why? Because my husband's in charge of sewing it!

  5. My kidlets get a special new ornament in their stockings and a little sweet treat. It was fun this year with my 4yo getting excited to put each of his ornaments on the tree. Rest of the presents go in their Santa sack (practical stuff like new pjs) or under the tree (fun stuff!). Enjoy your first Christmas with your little one!
